And always…always…endlessly repeating the book’s “Power Phrase” or “One Big Idea.”

My position is…a little different.

I’ve been actively involved in public speaking since I was twelve years old.  I was frequently involved in multiple speech competitions a week.

I was fortunate enough to win a world championship at eighteen. By then, I’d already given hundreds of speeches.

Along the way, as a mostly “left-brain person,” I’d built up countless systems, mental heuristics, mind maps, and processes to handle the volume, the workload, and the wildly diverse audiences.

At first, after competing for so many years, from such a young age, communicating those techniques was incredibly difficult. Especially with starting so young, most of the actual steps I took to achieve my results had been repeated so many times that it was virtually on “autopilot.”

Over time, however, and especially over the course of creating this book, I’ve had an opportunity to reverse engineer every pattern, process, and principle.

This book is the culmination of that three-year process. 

To the reader: I’m imagining you as someone who needs to improve their public speaking dramatically in the shortest time possible, with nothing left to chance.

In writing the book, two central repeating questions were:

“If you had no other source to jump into public speaking except this book, would it be enough?”

“Have I overlooked anything that you might need to get from zero to one in your public speaking journey?”

It took me three years to produce a resource that I truly feel addresses both of those questions to my satisfaction–and hopefully, more importantly, to yours.
